Year 6
Information
Year 6 concludes Key Stage 2 and marks the end of the Junior phase.
Our priority remains the children’s learning so as they leave us at the end of the year they feel fully prepared for secondary school and the adventure that awaits them in Year 7.
The Secondary Transfer Test takes place early in September for those children who wish to pursue a grammar school place.
Year 6 continue to work closely with Year 5 on joint topics, trips and projects. Further opportunities are provided for the children to take on roles of responsibility as House Captains or monitors – we have huge expectations of our Year 6 children as they provide the ultimate example to all the other children in the school.
Inevitably the year concludes with Key Stage 2 SATs assessments which the children sit in a formal exam setting. These tests are a culmination of all the learning the children have done whilst at the school and therefore results should reflect the children’s hard work and our success as a school.
