Year 2 marks the conclusion of Key Stage 1 and the end of the Infant phase. The children are by now used to the traditional structure of lessons including a whole class input, working at tables in groups and learning independently.

At the end of Year 2 the school continue to use the now optional SATs assessments to support our teacher judgements; this is done in a relaxed and informal manner to put the children at ease. Children who did not meet the expected standard in the Year 1 Phonics screening will have the opportunity to resist the test, supported by the ongoing phonics activities.
